Shannan & Andrea: Hilltop Villa & Beach Elopement in St. Croix - Virgin Islands Wedding Photographer
Shannan & Andrea traveled from Texas to St. Croix to elope! They brought along two of their best friends and it was such a sweet, intimate ceremony and celebration. They rented the ViewHouse (so pretty!) on the East End for the week and spent their time beach hopping around the island.
We met at the house to take a few shots by the pool and show off the views of Buck Island. From there, we headed down to Cramers Park Beach for the ceremony and more photos. Their best friends led the ceremony and Shannan and Andrea wrote their own vows. It was a windy St. Croix day but absolutely beautiful! After the ceremony, we went back up the hill to the house to make it official and sign the papers. Then they had dinner reservations at Savant in downtown Christiansted - one of my favorite spots, make sure you sit in the courtyard!
Shannan & Andrea made their dresses (whatttt?! so impressed) and the bejeweled Nike slip-ons (I want some of those). In the midst of planning and traveling, they accidentally forgot to order their flower bouquet in advance! Shannan let me know what happened and I made a few phone calls to flower shops on the island. My girl Gloria of Antilles Lilies made it happen super last minute!
I love including a bouquet in elopements - even if it's a homemade bouquet from foraged flowers! It's nice to have something to hold on to during photos, adds some interest, and really sets that "just married" vibe. I've been super into learning how to create my own bouquets lately. There are so many different types of greenery and flowers in my neighborhood - bougainvillea, pothos leaves, plumeria, etc. I've been experimenting with bouquets, leis, and floral hatbands. I have soo much to learn, but I'd love to start offering this service to my elopement brides soon!
